I have been working in the television and film industry for 29 years. I have worked in the capacity of Department Head, Key, Third, Personal makeup artist and in the bullpen for period films. I understand the importance of being production-friendly, timely and professional while keeping a specific relationship of confidence with my actors and actresses. I believe in checking my ego at the door and keeping the main focus on the talent. I consider myself to be a well-rounded makeup artist. Knowing my craft well, I'm ready for anything from a simple beauty or show girl, to full injury makeup. My practice of thought; having a good understanding of lighting is extremely important. Working closely with the Director of Photography and camera operators is essential. In my opinion, lighting is everything. It will make or break the appearance of makeup. The makeup trailer is a hub for camaraderie. It is a place where actors, actresses and directors will frequently have coffee, talk about the day's work or swap stories. It is often their place of refuge. Keeping this space drama-free is a priority. I started beauty school in 1984. In 1985 I began my first courses in film and TV makeup, advanced makeup and special-effects makeup. I then took courses at my local college in sculpting, drawing, art appreciation and stage makeup, where I worked on many stage productions. By 1987 I worked endlessly on low budget films, free gigs and tested with many fashion photographers. After many years of working, I finaly obtained my union card. Shortly thereafter I took my Journeyman test.

At the time, it was a 12 hour test and I was judged by my peers. Passing this test was very gratifying the fact that 34 trainees took it and only 4 past was a great accomplishment for me. I have been trully blessed to have worked non stop for all my years in the motion picture field.
